Woodsafe Group acquires Munktorps Träförädling AB from Optimera Sverige AB

Woodsafe Group has signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares in Munktorps Träförädling AB from Optimera Sverige AB. The acquisition is a strategic step in Woodsafe Group’s long-term investment in wood processing, industrial production, and sustainable wood-based solutions for the Nordic and international markets.

Munktorps Träförädling AB has a long history and a strong market position in planing, painting, and wood processing. Through the acquisition, new opportunities are created to further develop the business with a focus on quality, flexibility, customer adaptation, and industrial growth.

– “We are very pleased to welcome Munktorps Träförädling to Woodsafe Group. The company has strong expertise, an experienced organization, and a well-established market position. Together, we see great opportunities to further develop the business and create synergies between wood processing, fire protection technology, research, and international market presence,” says Thomas Bengtsson, CEO of Woodsafe Group.

The acquisition strengthens the interaction between the group’s operations within Woodsafe Timber Protection AB, Woodsafe Research & Development AB, and Woodsafe International AB. The ambition is to further develop the offering within industrially processed wood products while also creating a platform for continued innovation and sustainable development.

Munktorps Träförädling will continue its operations in Köping with the same local presence, expertise, and employees as before. For customers, suppliers, and partners, the change of ownership will not result in any immediate changes in day-to-day operations.

– “Munktorps Träförädling will become an important part of our long-term industrial investment. We see great potential in combining traditional wood expertise with modern production, sustainability, and technological development. Our ambition is to further develop the business together with employees, customers, and partners over the long term,” says Stefan Hedqvist, incoming CEO of Munktorps Träförädling. .

– “For Optimera Sverige AB, the transaction means continued focus on our core business within building materials trade and logistics, while Munktorps Träförädling gains an industrial owner with a clear focus on further development and expansion within wood processing,” says David Palm, CEO of Optimera Sverige AB.

Closing is expected to take place shortly, subject to customary conditions.
