Europe Meets North America

International capability grows when knowledge is connected.

Woodsafe’s collaboration with Hoover Treated Wood Products links extensive North American experience in fire-retardant treated wood with Woodsafe’s European industrial, regulatory and timber-construction expertise.

This creates a valuable technical bridge between two major markets – bringing together different testing traditions, product technologies, climates and decades of practical experience.

  • Fire science and reaction-to-fire engineering
  • Timber technology and moisture durability
  • International codes and standards
  • Supply chain and industrial process control
  • Sustainability, environmental data and EPDs
  • Architectural advisory and project support

From early design consultation to project-specific documentation, Woodsafe supports stakeholders throughout the entire value chain – ensuring compliant, durable and aesthetically consistent timber solutions.

European Testing, Classification & Verification

Woodsafe combines recognised European and Nordic test methods to document fire performance, durability and long-term behaviour across relevant applications.

  • European Fire Performance, Durability & Weathering Methods:
Woodsafe products and systems are tested and evaluated using recognised European and Nordic methods for reaction to fire, durability of fire performance, weathering and façade fire performance, including:

    EN 16755 – Durability of reaction-to-fire performance, EN 13501-1 – Reaction-to-fire classificationEN 13823 (SBI) – Reaction-to-fire testing, ISO 11925-2 – Ignitability testing, EN 927-3 – Natural weathering, EN 927-6 – Artificial weathering, SP Fire 105 – Large-scale facade fire testing
  • North American Testing, Evaluation & Technology
Woodsafe’s international technical platform also draws on established North American fire testing, durability evaluation and decades of industrial experience in fire-retardant treated wood.

Nature Created the Material. Knowledge Expands Its Possibilities.

Wood has shaped architecture for centuries. Today, its role is becoming even more important as the world looks for renewable materials capable of meeting the demands of modern construction.

At Woodsafe, we believe the future of timber begins with understanding the material itself — how it changes, how it ages and how it behaves when exposed to fire.

By bringing together timber expertise, fire science, industrial production, research and international collaboration, we develop the knowledge and technology needed to take wood further.

Not away from its nature — but further because we understand it.

Trusted Where Performance Matters Most

Woodsafe-treated timber has been specified for some of the world's most demanding construction projects across Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia.

From residential towers and cultural landmarks to transport hubs, educational facilities and large-scale resorts, our systems continue to demonstrate long-term durability, weathering resistance and verified fire performance—without compromising architectural freedom.
