Ilulissat Icefjord Center is a climate visitor center on Greenland's rugged coastal landscape. It was designed by Danish Dorte Mandrup to blend into the impressive landscape. At the same time, the Isfjord center will act as a hub for research, education and exhibitions that explore the effects of climate change in the area.
Together with Södra Timber AS in Denmark, Woodsafe has supplied fire-impregnated oak battens, treated with WOODSAFE® PRO, to the unique project, which also won the award as "Building of the Year in Denmark".
The wooden ribs, not only create a fantastic feeling for visitors, but also make the building safe against fire.
