The flow of materials affects the entire project

A well-planned material flow leads to improved production, fewer interruptions, and higher quality.

In most construction projects, material deliveries are one of the factors that have the greatest impact on production. Delayed deliveries, incorrect materials, or unclear documentation can quickly affect both the schedule and the budget.

When fire-retardant-treated wood is used, it is therefore important to plan the logistics early in the project. Since Woodsafe performs the treatment as a separate service, delivery takes place in several stages. The material is ordered from the contractor’s regular wood supplier and then sent to Woodsafe for treatment before being delivered to a warehouse or construction site.

This model gives the contractor considerable freedom to choose a supplier and wood product, while fire protection is carried out by a specialized provider with documented processes and third-party monitoring.

When the material flow is planned in conjunction with the project’s other deliveries, the impregnation process becomes a natural part of the construction project rather than a separate step.

Just like other specialized treatments, fire-retardant impregnation needs to be factored into the project schedule. By identifying early on which materials need to be impregnated and when they will be needed on the construction site, the contractor can ensure a smooth production flow.
